Hi all. First post on this forum. Hope you like it. This originally started on another forum, so we'll see how it goes maintaining this on two forums at once... So down to the nitty-gritty... Started off with a Jeep Commando kit. Made some custom spring with more arch.. Mock up with boggers... Chuck'd the V6 from the kit for this V8... Cut the doors out... Frame painted... Mock up from where I am now. And, painted the wheels flat black. On the drawing board: -Have to finish painting the shocks yet and mount them. -I have a couple small rare earth magnets to use with pin heads to keep the doors closed... gotta figure a way to hide them on the doors before making custom door panels. -Planning on some rock sliders. -Custom bumpers and swing out tire rack. -Some kinda roll cage... Thanks for looking!

Thank guys! Yeah, I just started thinking about color. Maybe a two tone burgundy and black, a white/black zebra stripe... or some combination of the below 4 colors... Any ideas on paint? ? I worked on the doors a little tonight. I have the magnetic part installed to keep the doors closed. It only takes a small amount of effort to open them, but thye stay closed when tilted sideways... Also started on the door panels... Thanks for looking!

The magnet idea is great! Gotta remember that one. Where do you get them?
My vote for paint color is the apple green (one of my favorites). John

Hey John, Thanks!
I like that green too, but I am 99% done with a Hemi Cuda... that green and black. If I use that green, it will be with another color (other than by itself, or with black).
I ordered the magnets online (I forget who from), but they had all sorts of sizes to choose from. They were ordered last year.
Thanks!

Made some progress over the weekend. First on my list is to straighten that silver out! The silver stripe/trim looks like crap in these pics. In real life, it doesn't look so bad. In fact, I think I'm going to head back out to the garage right after this... The frame, suspension and interior are "dirty'd" up already. Paint is still too new looking. Thanks for looking.

Bright paint indeed Eric...looks good with the black wheels. Nice job on the frame "dirt" also.

Update... Fixed that terrible silver trim... now straight! Much better. Put some paint on the hood (flat black) and felt it was missing something... so added a little detail to the hood. Like the doors, the hood is held closed with a magnet (round object in photos). Magnets work NICE to put that little 'click' in the close. Next time I need to use a little more metal in the doors. They're a little softer than I want. The hood is perfect. Some weathering on the frame/engine... need to weather the body when I get closer to being done. Engine compartment (you can see the hood magnet)... Doors open, interior... no dash installed yet. Here's how she'll sit. Started a little dirtying of the tires. Thanks for looking!
