Anyone here have any of the 1/25 Speccast series of trucks? They look nice in pics, the only one I've seen "in the flesh" is a 1957 Chevy stake truck with a nice John Deere riding mower in the bed ;D. I'd like to get a 1953 Willys, 1936 Dodge humpback panel, and the whole line of these F250s look nice...thoughts? Page after page of these on eBay... These could be potential candidates for masters also

I have some of those Willys... They came in 2 way, flat bed, and panel. But check before buy it, because some flat bed doesn't have nothing in the back. Like the Shell, Craftsman. Look only a the John Deere and Trustworthy, and another one that I couldn't remember the name. The panel came in different version too, like Harley Davidson, Postal, Trustworthy... Etc... The panel has the 2 back door working. All are also "bank", so you can put coin on it! Not to much space on the flat bed... And for open it there is a little key. They are pretty much nice models, now unfortunately little spendy...

hi!! Dave... if you want an A-100 van. I can suggest you to strat with the little red wagon and do some scratch for the rearbox instead of taking this DIE CAST. one of my friend get one and it's not looking good as the picture show.... not really 1/25 and some curve are weird.
if you don't have good reference for the A-100 I think I have some original brochure here. I can scan them and send it to you.
yours

thanks Jeff, i wish there were more pictures in that listing.
good to know Sebastien, i'll keep my eye out for that to be an issue maybe.
i have the Jimmy Flintstone body and it has issues all of it's own. it's not bad, but i'm still looking for an alternative. i did have the chance to look at a Spec Cast A-100 van a long time ago and remember it being pretty nice. the opening side doors are a feature i want. i once owned a '66 A-100 van and want to build a model of it. i've considered building my own from the LRW kit, but my skills arent there yet.

Dave I think this will be a god project for you... this kind of scratchbuilt are what I teach to the yougnster they are beginning. also with the easy avaibility to get low cost of the LRW if you scrap the job it will not cost you a fortune. happy modelling and try it... you will see .. YES YOU CAN yours

I bought one of the Speccast Fords for a friend of mine, but never saw it in person. He says its a bit off. I have a Brookfield Collectors Guild Ford F350 crewcab dually in Harley Davidson garb. They were also available in NASCAR collector sets: and as F250 crew cab shotbeds from HD: Matchbox also produced the F350 regular cab dually in various schemes:

Wow Richard, you've got all sorts of cool stuff! I wonder if these big Fords could be from the same tooling? Wish you had a Speccast to compare yours to, there are all sorts of options with the crewcab, shortbed, & dually fenders if they're the same tooling...I just scored a John Deere with the pushmower in back from eBay CHEAP! Maybe I'll send it to you for a comparison?

Wow Richard, you've got all sorts of cool stuff! I wonder if these big Fords could be from the same tooling? The only Matchbox truck I have is the fire truck version (not my photo): which has opening doors/hood(tailgate), the Brookfield model does not have any moveable parts but has crisper/finer details. Here is the truck in the NASCAR set: Personnally I like this version of the Speccast truck, which has opening front doors (?): Comparing the photos, they all appear to originate from different molds.

Awesome Willys panel Richard! I just won a stakebed from eBay for $2.25! I'm going to scratch a bed for it, hope to get a panel someday too & make a wagon out of it with the later squarish rear wheel openings. I think RMR casts these in resin, not sure how their quality is...I did see one of his "70s Scramblers"
