Getting back into modeling again I thought I would combine two of my favorite subjects: Broncos and rust. So here is where I am in the process. After building Big Oly, I have a few parts left over that were not good enough. So I will be using them plus a few. The main body panels were made using the molds used for Oly. But rather than using resin, I used melted styrene (see link offroadmodels.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=howto&action=display&thread=3). The advantage is that the panels can be very thin if only a few layers of goop is put down. And because the process requires slathering it in the mold, the panels are very rough and wavy, exactly like a junk truck. The bad things using this method is the stench and the time it takes to dry. Each layer requires an overnight stay on the porch. Anyway, here is where this project is: some panels are molded, floor pans are done. Next getting it all together, creating holes in the panels, and adding the rust/base. Enjoy!

As always John, the scratchbuildin' looks great. Love that firewall. And again, it's good to see you back at the bench.

With the change in the season much more time has been spent at the workbench... cold temps and dark after work. So, making more progress than over the rest of the year. The body panels are now on. A couple more hours and it should be able to be painted. It is mentally difficult to scratch-build something making it as real looking as possible only to dremel it away. But I have found that it looks more real in the end. As always, any questions... feel free to ask.
