This is a project that was started by another modeler and was passed off to me because of my love of all things Jeep. It started as two MPC WWII kits and sheet plastic. major parts layout and early mock up. Chassis is coming along with wheels from a diecast Willys PU and the kit flat head four with all the chrome parts. Body additions with rear fenders made from the bubble skirts from the AMT 40 Ford and more bits of Evergreen strips and sheet. We will see where it ends up

I am looking forward to seeing where this one goes. Jeepney? Fun, unusual, creative builds like this really get my attention, and the fact that it is a Jeep (of sorts), well so much the better! What a hoot!

Now THAT'S different! Kinda like a 'tour' Jeep! We'll be watching, keep it going

The Jeepney was the primary people hauler in the Philipines from the late 40s to the present. They were based on WWII Jeeps that were left in country. Today they are styled after the Jeep but are made locally,, often out of polished stainless steel. This one will represent one from some time in the 50s-60s that still had a lot of Jeep content.

I am building the bj44 Phillipine taxi and I am not going to use any of the extras < like the horses, chickens, or any thing of that sort. would you like to have it or are you just going to keep it clean?? Let me know, but I do not have the decals. I am sure you can find someone that will make them.

hunter: I would love to have all the horses, chickens, etc. from the bj44. I intend to make this a full dress Philippine jeepney. Haven't decided on paint yet. PM sent.
