Alright lets try an ongoing community build. three rules it has to be a combination of four wheel drive ,a Toyota and a Chevrolet. thats it. post your progress if you want or just wait until you are done no time limit lets just see how many we can get.No questions about the rules please if you think it fits into the spirit of the project then it does.Good luck!

Cool idea Randy! I'll be watching this one from the sidelines though, as I just checked my stash & have no Toyotas...a couple of Datsuns, but no Yotas. Neat old kit you're starting with, I hope you keep the topper

topper is definatly staying although the roll bar in this kit is kinda cool also. I have already separated the cab from the bed and cut out the engine bay. man this plastic is as brittle as most clear plastic, it just snaps apart but it is clean breaks so easy to glue back on. I hope maybe you stumble across a toyota and can join me ,you know it doesn't have to be a pick up but it would be a lot cooler if it is.

I have not had time to take photos but I am progressing I will try to get some up tonight. So far I have seperated the cab from the bed and started bringing the frame up to glue kit standards . the plastic is so brittle every time I cut something the plastic snaps and I have to re glue ,very frustrating and counter productive.and I think I may switch over to a small block instead of the big block chevy shown above.

I need to find one of these Toyotas. I just realized if I turned it into a 2wd, it would look just like my old truck I owned. (I had a 2wd Toy with 4x4 fenders/flares and a windowless cap just like that back in the mid 80s!)

It is on my bench , not done but it has been worked on . I was hoping for at least one more person to join in ,lacking that this took on more of a wip rather than a group build . I'll make more of an effort to get this back up and running. I have seen these Toyotas more frequently on ebay lately. A little patience should yield you one for around $30-$35 ,a lot of patience will get you one cheaper than that .
