Me too, I've decided to turn mine into a GMC . I forgot the Blazer comes with a sweet grille guard.

^^^^^Nice guys, I always thought the GMC front ends looked much better than the Chebbies.^^^^^
I've started tinkering with the Exploder, but nothing worth pics yet. Got the engine block assembled and have removed the mold lines from the body. Yesterday I ordered some BFG All Terrains from Fireball Modelworks to replace the dinky stock tires. I'm also mulling scrapping my idea of a body lift and doing a small suspension lift instead. The way AMT engineered the IFS with a fairly simple assembly, it has me thinking it won't be too hard to rig up a lift with some evergreen.

I'm going to attempt to get in on this with attempt being the key word. I've got several projects on the go. So, I probably won't make the dead line. I ran across a cool little kit that I got in a trade some time ago and thought it would be perfect for this. It's a '92 Nissan Pathfinder by American Satco. It's a curbside model. So, that will save me some time. It reminds me a lot of an Aoshima kit in that it has a lot of details for a curbside kit. It's actually made in Japan. So, I guess it's possible that it was made by Aoshima or another Japanese company. The plan will be to build it straight out of the box. But, make it as nice as possible. I'll post a photo of the box later. Are we to post our progress here or open a separate thread?

Glad you're joining us Roger!!! Don't worry about the deadline, as long as we all work towards getting finished, I don't think a hard cut-off date will have to be adhered to That Pathfinder of yours is in fact a kit made by Aoshima, rebranded as American Satco. I think it was available as LH or RH drive, nice kit! Oh, I don't see why we can't post our progress pics right here in this thread?

Here's my entry. It comes with a nice set of five Bridgestone Mud Dueler tires. The wheels are pretty decent looking too. So, I'll be using those. The only work I'm going to have to do is filling in the rear of the buckets and rear seat. All of those cool details and they leave the back of the seats open! WTH? It'll be moving up in the lineup momentarily. I sprayed the first coats of paint on my '61 F-100 and mocked it up. Something's just not right about it. I don't know if it's the wheels, the tires, the finish of the paint, color or what it is. But, it's not what I want or invisioned.

I got started on my Pathfinder last night while I was waiting for paint to dry. I got the rear of the seats and the sunroof filled in. The styrene this thing is molded in sucks! It's really soft. It has me wondering how it's going to react to primer. I'll post photos when I have something worth posting.

Cool, I'm glad we're getting some progress, anyone else? Don't think I have any Aoshima styrene here, prime a piece of sprue to see how it reacts? I have a bit of progress myself...don't like the body side moldings on this Blazer, so I'm shavin' them. Even the box art photo of the 1:1 doesn't have them! Before: And in progress: All done with that now, it'll show better in primer soon. I've assembled the seats to get after their seams as well as suspension bits, etc. I robbed the LS V8 from the Revell '99 Silverado to put in here, looks like it'll fit without too much drama

This is all I have done so far , used "custom" body panels from 94 Sonoma pick up and enlarged wheel openings . the tires are team losi rc wheels with some parts box rims . I'm not sure where it's going .

Nice progress guys! Randy, I really like your wheel + tire combo. The mailman dropped off my BFG's on Friday, and boy they sure look nice. They represent a 31x10.50x15 in 1/24 scale, so they're prolly scale a little closer to a 32" on the Explorer. Don't know why they look gray in the pics. They fit the Explorer's wheelbacks perfect, too. With the tires now in hand, I should get rolling on the suspension soon. Side by side with the kit Goodyear's. About the only other progress is I've decided to go with the XLT grille instead of the Limited one, as I like it better. I'm also going with a minimal chrome look, so the grille and rear bumper went for a swim in the purple pond to remove the chrome.
