A while back, TSC had a 50% off sale on all in stock toys, including diecasts. So I got four of the '38 IH pickups, and two of these... Maisto's 2010 F-150 STX 4x4. One will stay stock (for now) and the other will be 'downgraded' to a base model XL. The stock model, in a pretty good rendition of Ford's Blue Flame metallic paint... I'll need to make up a narrow, center bucket, since the XL only comes with a 40/20/40 bucket setup. Yep, bench seats are pretty much a relic of history now. So, that center console will be gone, and a narrow bucket will take its place. I can still use the STX outboard buckets, though. Here's the truck in its new color- Ford's ever popular Oxford White. I also filled in the foglights with two-part body filler. You can order the XL with fog lights, but I chose not to use them on this conversion. The XL can have a chromed or dark grey bumper- I'm going the dark grey grille/bumpers route with this. For some reason the new Revell Ford Expedition SSV (Police) kit comes with late model, six-bolt wheels. They are wrong for that kit, but just the ticket for an '09-'14 XL! And finally- I masked off the Ford oval and F-150 badges on the tailgate. I'll redo the fender badges with BMF and a black fine tip Sharpie. Hopefully. I did not strip the body- I sanded the factory paint, primed it, and applied the Oxford White over that.

Great project! I'll keep an eye on this one! Chuck, those are in 1/24 or in 1/27?

The wheels appear to be 1:25- they fit the previous 17" 1:25 Revell F-Series/Expedition tires perfectly. I think they look alright on the F-150- I think "1:27 scale" is more of an average than anything when it comes to Maisto- though.
