-I just got one of these kits, and there are very few things I can remember withthe one I'm gonna model, so here goes (its a "Family Build" of mine, sort of, a close a VERY close friend of the family owned it. So I had spent a lot of time with Sylvan, when he owned it and makes it worthy to build!
ANYWAY, His was I *THINK* a '79, Scout II, Which I know, and it had a 345 in it, and was Automatic, and had a plow on it, as well and was a light metallic (sort of) blue.... I recall, it seemingly to have white spoked "steel" wheels, WERE Those common? IF I remember correctly, I'm not sure if they were a "added" part by Sylvan or not, BUT I seem to recall them on his Scout! Then, I have to figure out something close to the color, ANYONE know the '79 International Scout color choices? And if so, where can I find the paint swatch online to see? I wanna try and match this up as close as I can get it.... BUT I'm not sure if the color that Sylvan's wore, was a factory color! -I'm normally a Mopar guy most know that, but I traded some stuff to get this Scout as an offering as the other person knew I had one in mind to model after this one my family friend had.... SO, I'm weeding for info that I just can't seem to remember for sure!
I THINK it was a 1979,
I KNOW it had a 345 V-8, Automatic, and snow plow on it, and it was in fact a light metallic-like blue.....
Stock tire SIZE, and I THINK the wheels might have been a "choice" from IH back then, again, THAT I'm not sure of! -What were the stock "wheel Choices" if any?
Thanks guys! Any help on this is GREATLY appreciated!

OK with a little searching online I fount this: The color I'm looking for closely resembles the "6776 Bimini Blue Metallic"........ BUT that says "1978" and to that, it doesn't show if that color could be gotten on a Scout..... NOW I am not sure if Sylvan had bought that truck used, that color, and it was repainted, OR if he had it done himself after owning it.... I can't even say how long he owned that SUV either! I know he had it a LONG Time, and still may have it! (I've not heard from him in years), but no one in the family has mentioned he passed away so... (And sadly, I just live close enough to just go "stop by" so..... OR I WOULD!) I do know that color is very close, to what was on his truck! BUT that too memory fades, and so doesn't paint in sunlight, (It was NEVER kept "in-doors" so.... it could have very well been that color, and faded!) Any ideas guys on this? -This one is a learning process so, not that I'm starting it any time soon, I just gotta know what I need to hunt out when searching for paint to buy, if I ain't got it in-shop right now.....

Actually, a bash with the Scout model! Pulled the t-case and axles (modified them) from that kit. I don't build to your level, but was happy with the outcome... with the exception I should have opened up the rear of the front wheelwells just a bit. (In the real world, the tires would hit with much compression of the leaves.)

(Any threads on its build?) -Like to see better pics of that one! (I been pondering a 4x4 A100 too!)

yes u could get the white spoked wheels, I had a 74 international truck my dad bought new and he had the optional wheels put on -Yeah I *THINK* thats what Sylvan had on his, its been so long ago its difficult to remember as there has been several trucks SUV's (older ones) in my past..... And I can't seem to find a single pic with that truck in it to be sure! I do know the color of it tho as I painted it once for him at the garage I worked for way back when and he got the paint for me to paint it, and was the same color, I just can't remember the paint shades name but remember its color to be like that of the 6776 Bimini Blue Metallic.... So I'm relying a LOT on mere memory of the truck alone! SO, spoke wheels were an option then? See thats the part I don't know, I'm not all that into International, I like them yes I do! But, I'm not into International like I am say Dodge or even "Mopar" for that matter..... So Its something I plan to piece together from some memory of the truck, as well as factual things the truck came with from the factory.... and the few things Sylvan himself may have added to it over time... The Plow, I know he added to it, as well as having it painted that one time. And had me repair a couple window winders inside of the truck a few times over the years.... -Nevermind all the basic maintenance to it, oil changes, filter changes, tire replacement, etc... I don't count all that but all the times I was "involved" in those things has some memory to the truck in carryout any of those regular maintenance of the actual truck. I'd LOVE to lay eyes on a sale brochure from International on the '79 Scouts just to see what all they came with and what all I may not know of what Sylvan's had! Finding such a thing, seems to not exist online!
