I need another new project Welly 1/24 Jeep JK... Oohh, this is gonna be a nice basis for a four-door Unlimited resin kit...measures favorably to the 1:1, has the "look" I think. Nice detail (except underneath)... Can't see any reason doing a two-door resin like this when the diecast is available? Once I blow this thing apart, I'll mock it up with a lift & some big meats to see how she looks before I start cuttin' it up! ;D

Welly made also the 4 doors. Really? All I could find in 1/24 scale was a two-door...Welly and Jada made them. The only Unlimited four-doors I found were small scale like this: www.ehobbies.com/atl99087080.htmlAnd of course the large scale R/C bodies also...

and if you planed to market it... one of my friend modeler is doing a master of it for a caster. but I don't know who ( no joke... it's not me ) and we are 3 in quebec that have the skill to do this at the moment. so I can guess I have 50% of chance to win. If it's for someone here.. I don't know if he start with the Welly OR the Revell die cast but it look nice . His 2 door is about 75% complete and the four door at 60% complete.
Don't stop your project because somebody else do it. yours may be will be better than him....
HAVE FUN that's the most important thing.
yours

But I'm trying to do things others haven't done in resin...I was crushed when I found out that RMR made a Scrambler! I thought I had the only one coming to market. Competition is a good thing in most cases, pushes you to do your very best! But if your friend's JK is that far along, I'll put this on hold & just enjoy it as a shelf model for now until we see his available for sale... Maybe it's time to start scratching that Gen I Bronco...

Keep in mind Jeff: #1. yours might be better and/or cheaper than his #2. yours might get more promotion (on the best off road model site on the web ) and #3. yours might be available in a reasonable amount of time (one of the worst complaints about casters can be their delivery times). Now, I would not complain if there was a GOOD Early Bronco body. I know I need 3 or 4 of your first pulls. John

you are right John!!in every comment.!! when I plan something I don't look if someone else will market it. I want to do it I do it. of course if a kit is already on the market I will see the kit forst to see what can done to be better than this one. but this is my philosophy. and about the caster I can assure it's a US caster not a canadian one. it's not modelhaus so who we will se it one day maybe. for sure I will made it one day even if you ( jeff ) market his own. not to beat him but like someone say in my younger's day.. the better thing are done by our self. and the thing I love in our hobby is to design, make the rough, think how I can achieve the project... not finishing a model... so like I said jeff... DO what you like to do. even a 1st gen bronco. and a quick update about the dodge ram 1st gen... cab almost finish +- 20% to do but it's a small 20% it took +-75 hours for the 80% to do but I estimate the 20% at 5-8 hours max.., grill at 65%, frame 100%. if you want to know if it's scratch .... YES cab is 100% scratch. yours

I get pretty excited about building something that hasn't been done before...I like to share thoughts about it & get input, maybe I need to sit back, do my thing & keep my big piehole shut about it until it's ready to market, huh? Must...have...control...must...use...fingers...for scratchbuilding...not typing & posting pics...LOL
