I got started on this build because I saw some videos on how they made the Fast and Furious fuel hiest trucks and thought that they were really cool. I have never seen the movie though. If you would like to see the complete breakdown of the buildup, look on the Scale Auto Forum under the trucks section. For the 67, I started with the AMT 72 chevy pickup kit and ordered a 67 grille from modelhaus. however, the modelhaus grille would require extensive modifications to fit in the 72 body. I have the truck mostly finished but have not finished it because it would take a lot of work to fit the grille. However, I just found out that RMR resins makes a 67 chevy truck and ordered the cab so it should be here soon so I can finish the truck. The engine on the actual movie truck is a 502 big-block but it was supposed to be a cummins turbodiesel so I custom made an inline six twin-turbo engine with a big rig fuller 13-speed transmission and shifter. The engine bay still needs a little more. With the huge transmission, i had to greatly enlarge the tunnel for it in the interior.

The wheels are from the Revell Peterbilt 359 kit and the back tires are modified kit parts. The front tires are from the Revell Dodge Magnum SRT8 kit. I am working on making the exhaust stacks out of 1/4" styrene rod and aluminum tubing.

I started with the AMT 84 GMC truck and added a crewcab to it, created a cowl on the hood, and added a spoiler to the back of the cab. The grille is not made by anybody that I know of so a friend of mine made a modified resin one from the AMT USA-1 monster truck grille. I am currently working on scratchbuilding the correct wheels for the truck from Monogram F-350 duallie wheels. This is the front and I am going to have it resin cast. Still working on the rear.

I could not find any correct GM 14-bolt rear axles for the kit so I am just using two Monogram F-350 duallie 12-bolt rears. Because this is a crewcab, I am having to scratchbuild the whole frame instead of just the back half. It will have a custom 10-link airbag suspension with all four rear wheels being powered. I might try to make it a 6x6 by adding a front axle but I will have to see. The engine is from the Revell Pro sportsman 57 chevy kit with parts-box carbs, manifold and parts by parks turned aluminum air cleaners. The transmission is a multimedia muncie four-speed per the movie from Model Car garage.

The interior has a scratch built roll bar just like the movie car and a modified kit grille with an aluminum gauge insert. The seats are also parts-box pieces. That is the complete run down on the build so far. I have not worked on it a very much for a while so I am trying to pick up the pace again. Stewart
