Here's some progress pics of my 100 series Toyota Landcruiser. The kit is the 1/24 Fujimi VX. My actual car is the standard model which is presenting some "challenges"
The differences are:
* The kit has top & bottom hinged rear doors, mine has left & right side hinged doors and a very different rear.
* The kit has independent front suspension, mine has a solid axle.
* The kit has standard suspension and tyres, mine has a 2" lift and 33" mud-terrains
* Mine has a snorkel, roof rack, bullbar, winch, rear wheel-carrier, spotlights and aftermarket sliders.
Anyhoo, here's some pics:
This is my vehicle in it's current configuration. I haven't entertained the thought of a 1/24 scale camper trailer yet, but won't rule it out...
Here is the rear of the vehicle. This means I need to scratchbuild a wheel carrier and change the door configuration on the model.
Here is the rear with the VX door lights filled in, the licence plate mount removed, the VX brake light removed and the wiper hole filled.
This is bullbar MkII. I'm up to about Mk IX now.
This is the roof with the sunroof filled in and a couple of the VX roof bar mounts removed. Mine has an ARB roof rack with different mounting points. Which leads us to...
The roofrack bottom section.
It's been a lot of fun so far. But I'm tossing up the idea of buying an 80 series kit as they basically have the same suspension and drivetrain set-up as mine. I reckon it will be easier than trying to make a mold of the rear axle and muck around with the suspension.
I have a set of Ma's Resin superb BF Goodrich Mud Terrains (thanks Alan) that will be going on. I also have a pair of blue lens truck lights that, when painted and re-shaped a bit will look good as the LightForce lights.
Thanks for letting me share.
Cheers
Andrew
