Hey Gang, with so many projects on the bench, I've been bouncing around alot.. gotta get back to the Ford and the fabricating that it requires, but I got hung up on the Vette for a bit... started this project back in August after I completed the anti-chrome GTO. I was trying to have it completed by Halloween (didn't happen) then the date got pushed back to Thanksgiving (didn't happen either).. but today was the day I got her finished! Its the Revell '68 Corvette Roadster 2 in 1. I got this kit from my mom for Christmas of 1999 when I lived in Japan. She sent me 3 or 4 muscle car kits, and initially I had painted it red with white trim. Unfortunately the red ran, and so the kit got shelved till last year. I picked it back up, gave it a Purple Power bath, and some light sanding, and dove back in.. Pretty much a box build, I kept the anti-chrome mentality and used a semi-gloss black to off-set the pumpkin orange. I found the light almond, and used it to do the interior and the soft top. There was a bit of a blank space on the dash, so I tossed in a bit of modern technology with a GPS decal. I did nick a set of wheels from a '70 Chevelle kit thats on my to-do list. Thanks for looking!

Hey cipher, nice Corvette. The no chrome, black details gives it a road-race look. And that interior is gorgeous. I don't know how you guys paint such tiny stuff. I guess that's why interiors are not one of my strong points. Great job though.

Is that Krylon's Pumpkin Orange? I've always been curious as to how it actually looked. Seeing your Vette now, I gotta say it looks great, might just have to pick some up. Like Big Ed said, it looks a lot like a road racer. Great work, I really like it.

thanks guys, and yeah Bogger, thats the Krylon Pumpkin Orange.. I used a flat black base and misted the orange over it till I got full coverage.. really impressed with it. I can't afford an air brush, and my LHS is way to far away, but Wal-Mart always keeps a good supply of Krylon in stock... lol.. guess I'm just a spray painter!
Ed, the interior detail takes for ever, lots of toothpicks, and extreme amounts of breath holding!
