Here is my project build of my 1:1 '79 CJ-7 that I used to own. It had a 304 V8, 3" suspension lift, full roll cage. I miss my old Jeep. So I will build it in scale! Hosted on FotkiI came across this shirt of my Jeep that was airbrushed for me as a present. Pretty Cool! Hosted on Fotki

I'm looking for a taller air filter for my jeep build of my 1:1 CJ7. On the actual vehicle I had either a 5-6" tall round K&N air filter. The air was a chrome top and bottom, possibly 12 " across.
I'm looking for something similar in 1/25 scale. Any ideas?

The best projects...duplicating your 1:1 I think I've seen the air filter in scale that you seek Mark, not sure if it was in a thread on MCM, in the aftermarket, or in my kits/parts? I'll take a look... Would be easy enough to scratch though with the lid from a 3"-4" high assembly.

Hey, wheels4ever! I had a '79 CJ-7 too! And like you, I really miss having it. Some bonehead in a lifted F-250 crew cab turned left right in front of me. I only had about a couple of car lengths to stop. Needless to say, I didn't. I hit him at about 35 mph. My theory is that in a lifted CJ, the headlights are closer together and higher off the ground than in an average car. So at night (or dusk) a CJ looks like a normal car that is much farther up the road. So if someone thinks it's a normal car he's looking at and tries to cut it close in front of a CJ...SMASH! I'm really looking forward to seeing your build progress! This is exactly the kind of inspiration I need to start honing my scale-building skills. Attachments:
