Today I placed my order for my Aoshima 1991 Toyota 4 runner lift up ;D ;D ;D ;D I am excited for this build, even more excited that they had this rare model for such a great price! might have to snatch up a few more and make a 4 runner wheeling club LOL Anyway, I will document its build here. Any questions you have about it ask! Plans are kinda in the air. I have no idea what option parts it comes with so once I get it, I will begin to get my ducks in a line and figure out what I actually want to do with it. Anyway, here is a file photo of the box and of one a guy completed with a custom brushguard/winch combo

Big Ed, Thanks! I can't wait to get it here at my house! I am excited just to look at all the parts. Even though there is no engine (which I prefer on a model like this), the lift up parts will be cool to see. Thanks to all, and I hope to continue to share the build up.

The kit is here.
Aoshima made 3 versions of the 4runner, and all 3 ways to do it are included, just the instructions are for the high lift version.
Can't wait to work on it, but it is so nice outside I must be out there! ;D

Took some pictures of the kit, I am picking up some more glue today and some paint so i can paint and then assemble. the red tree is for the SSR-5 4runner (4x2), Chrome is for my Liftup as well as the grey/silver I am using these interior pieces, I like the caramel, looks like leather. I will paint some parts if i can find a wood grain-esque paint. Any suggestions? The Body I am a little confused about the front grille because the kit includes the older inset headlights from 1991 and the 1992 flush with the grill headlights. Also it comes with a brushguard and lenses for driving/off road lights but there are no housings. Anybody know where i can buy some 1/24 housings besides eBay? Thanks to all and I plan to start painting this week. Not much needs painted. I just like to add a little detail

Been busy lately, but started painting tonight to get my mind off of somethings. I painted suspension and underbody for the most part. These Aoshima kits do not have engines or transmissions to assemble and worry about, which is good on a kit such as this one with the modified suspension. I hope to move right along with more painting saturday, i will be busy tomorrow.

over the weekend i did tons of work. Got the rolling chassis and interior completed, just need to paint the body and finish some other things. Coil springs with Spacer those 2 silver blocks spot on are what lifts it up besides longer coils and the spacers. rolling around. need to figure out what/ho i am going to paint he bumpers/grille and then finish that woo hoo interior The Almighty 4Runner. From Toyota. I am going to make some rock sliders, front and rear bumpers, but they can be swapped out from street bumpers to HD front and rears. I have a few questions though since i am still figuring stuff out. How d you make a CB radio? and what paint or how do you guys make your head lights/turn signals look so good? Thanks.

Hey 95. The build is lookin' good. I usually drill out the molded-in headlights and go from there with clear lenses and some sort of chrome bucket glued behind. Looks to me like all you have to do is glue your clear headlight lenses into the headlight buckets. I keep an assortment of Magic Marker colors on hand for detailing and parkin' lights, etc. They work great. "Staples" has dozens of different color markers. Let me know if this helps.
