after looking at some of the kits i have alot of stuff has a passenger side drop!
so.........................i'm building one of that style too.
this weekend i'm going to show the cases to a resin caster i know and see what he thinks of them as far as masters go. i know the first one i made is a little rough, but we'll see what he thinks of the others. since i mailed the second one i made off to Zukiholic i made another one just like it with the drivers side drop. in the end i'll have three different styles built. if the guy i know thinks they are good enough for masters then i'll see if someone wants to cast them.

after showing them to a very reputable resin caster who i've known for quite awhile, he and i both agreed that the cases need a little more work before they are cast worthy. he sees some potential problem areas for the molds too, but not really anything that can be done about it. for the most part it will just limit how many copies can be made before the mold starts to tear or chunk. i really appreciated his input and i'm glad i asked him for his honest opinion on them.

Hey Dave, a little massaging with some filler/primer/sanding will fix you right up hopefully...I ran into the same deal with my caster having problems on the Scrambler frame & body with complex molds. That's the problem with us not being casters...we can't forsee the issues they can as far as mold making goes. Multi-piece masters are the way to go I believe, then assemble as you would kit parts.
I really gotta try casting at home to get a feel for it, you should too!
