thanks Jeff and Willie!
i just made them for my own use on some projects. the second one i made i decided to send to Zukiholic as a way of saying thanks for alot of the help he's given me over time. he may cast some more for himself as i know he can do that. whatever he does with it after it's in his hands is his decision.
i don't want to step on anyones toes either with these things. Willie, i know that you already mastered one and it was offered in resin. i looked at yours for some inspiration too!

Very nice replications Dave! Gotta agree, excellent job! Someone needs to cast (and offer) it. We all hear too many "where can I get a transfer case?" questions on other sites. John

i did get an offer from a resin caster if i was interested.
here's my question, or a few
Willie first, how do you feel about the whole thing? you already mastered an Atlas case that was offered in resin at one time. i don't want to upset you with coming out with a new one.
is there really enough demand out there for this caster to add the case to his line-up?
what would be the most desireable set-up? the one like i made for my '50 Ford project or the standard case?
Dave

Dave, great job on the TCs. I for one, would love to see the Atlas cast. I was goin' thru my stash lookin for a T-case for the Scout, and ended up puttin somethin' together, cuttin' here, addin' that... you know. And anything goes when you're scratchin' stuff...for me, anyway. If it looks good.............................

Hey Dave, I think that it would be good to see an atlas tcase. I for one would be interested in having quite a few of them. In my thinking would be if you were to offer the atlas then the demand would be soon to follow once people seen them. But thats just my thinking take it for what its worth. Have a good one. Gary

Not to step on Willie's toes, yet he did admit it, this one looks great. PLEASE get these cast in resin. I have so many projects that could use a great TC underneath it,

Yes Dave, get both reproduced. We have three casters here on this board that are willing to make parts that we master to add to their catalogs...In this little cottage industry, I really don't think they view each other as "competition". We need as many of these guys around as possible, it helps keeps our hobby healthy, let's support them by buying their stuff! I myself plan to throw each one of them stuff to cast. Our unique parts aren't for the masses, but we need 'em!
As far as which version, I say both, and use Willie's (as most older 4x4s had passenger side front diffs & I think his is a pass. drop?) and have the caster offer all three in their lineup! These are small parts & wouldn't cost that much in rubber & resin to reproduce...I myself would be buying a few of each version!
Just my $.02!!!

how many applications use a passenger side extension or drop? i know the Scout does, any others?
the other problem is that the first one i built is a little rough. it's not bad but has a spot or two where there are blemishes that i really can't do much about. the second one came out much better.

Just about every 4x4 from every manufacturer (domestic anyway) pre-1980 used pass. side front diff. All Jeep CJs used pass. side diff. Wranglers took the place of the beloved CJ in 1987 & had drivers side diff. So newer trucks & SUVs seem to all have drivers side drop.

Ford goes to the drivers side i think they were pretty much the only ones thus the high pinon reverse rotation gears in the front i think the newer Dodges had it on the drivers side also Willie
