I am starting a build soon on a R/M CJ7 (have one of the yellow, one of the white) but they come with V8 engine. I was wondering if anyone knows where I can find a kit with a 24/25 258 (4.2L)? Jeffs396, I know you mentioned it on the CJ-8 Scrambler Forum www.cj-8.com/forum/showthread.php?t=26400, but didn't know if anyone found it. If anyone has a source for 258, Chrysler TF automatic, and the D300 T-case I'd be most appreciative. It'd also be amazing to find a set of Scout II D44 axles. Edit: the Scout models may not have rear D-44, going to have to do more reading. Any suggestions? Most look like they do, but I can't tell on some. Either way, would love some D-44s, with passenger side drop front, though I could change that. Thanks.

I think the only 258 amc engine were in the pacers and gremlins and there 1/25, but you might be able to use it in a 1/24 .I think the pacers were AMT.

David, I fixed the linky in your original post. The 258 I have pictured on the sprues is from the AMT "custom panel" Pacer, and the mostly assembled one is from the MPC '76 Pacer. Never really compared either to a 1:1 (my Dad has an all original low mileage '76 CJ-5 I need to look at), but Jeff @ Motor City Resin Casters does a Jeep 6 cylinder in resin that goes with his DJ postal kit. Not sure if it's based off of either of these kit engines, but I'll bet he'd sell it separately if you wanted one: www.motorcityresincasters.com/mailjeep.htm
