This is the 1:24 scale '77 GMC by Revell. The kit comes with a really nice snow plow and some 8-bolt 3/4 ton wheels... the only reasons I bought the kit! That left me with the rest of the truck, which I wasn't too excited about. I could have sold the remainder, or set it aside as trade fodder, but instead I chose to have a little fun and do it as a post-apoc hunter/gatherer guy's truck. So far, here's what I've done... I opened up the grille by filing material away from the back side. For some reason the kit comes with an early '60's Rochester mechanical fuel injection setup, so I replaced that with the intake manifold and carb from a Monogram '37 Ford street rod kit (which has a small block Chevy for power). I also cut away the tailpipes, which are molded right to the frame rails. The headers came from an old Monogram K5 Blazer mud bogger kit. So far, the majority of the kit is being built just as Revell intended, but I'll be adding a few more doodads and widgets to fill it out as the project progresses. Hopefully...

Today's efforts- I added some slash cut stacks to the headers, made from aluminum tubing. The rollbar is from the kit, and I stole the wheels from a '56 Chevy. Yes, I'll need to do something to tone down that chrome! The spool of metal is from an AMT flatbed trailer. Still debating if I'll use the hoist, which is a modified Fujimi part.

Randy- I've had an airbrush for a while but I almost never use it. It's handy for adding mud/wet dirt to 4x4 models, though! Onto today's progress... Started work on the snorkle for the intake- Meet Seth. He's in the salvage business, and lives in District 18-A. Masked off the wiper arcs so I could dirty up the glass a bit...
