It is with a heavy heart that I must give all of you the bad news that our dear friend Larry has passed away I just got a phone call from his beloved wife Cindy this evening. I've been thinking about the big guy lately, wondering why we haven't heard from him in awhile. I really should have known something was wrong when he never responded to the happy birthday thread for him back in February. I feel terrible that I hadn't talked to him for several months. I didn't know he was sick again, I assumed he was burned out with building & just not posting, just like we all do sometimes. I never had the chance to meet my friend in person (we tried several times to get together, but for different reasons it just never happened). We used to talk by phone and email, but not often enough This great man will be sorely missed. He could always put a smile on my face with his wit and unique style of posting! His scratchbuilding skills were off the chart I so wish his AWESOME Rockwells would have made it into production so we could all have the chance to use them on a build. He had such incredible builds too: Rest in Peace my friend, love ya!

This is very sad news indeed . It's not often that someone like Larry comes along not only was he a great builder but he was always encouraging and supportive of the builders here and I think a cornerstone member of this board. I will miss him very much. I wish love and support for his family . If I am feeling this sad I can't imagine what the people who got to be around him on a daily basis are feeling . Jeff if you talk to his wife again please let her know he was important to us and will be sorely missed .

This is terrible news. Larry was a great friend to me and I did attempt to cast his Rockwell axles several years ago without much success. The issue I was having with the axles came down to his creation having too much detail which was gettin lost during the casting process. I stopped in here just to ee how things were going and did not expect to see this news. He will be missed through the community and many have lost a great friend. RIP Larry.

I'm sorry to hear of Larry's passing. His copious talent was and will always be an inspiration to me (and many others on this forum, I suppose). I didn't know him personally, but his posts were always encouraging and positive toward others, and in spite of his obvious experience and skill, he seemed quite humble.
