I didn't even know he had it in the hopper but the most recent ( #182) issue he has an article called "Commercial Break " that will be recurring. He will be covering trucks ,light commercial , off road, farm equipment all kinds of cool stuff . I'm excited to have this subject back in print .

So am I.... just never figured I'd be the guy doing it! It won't be a regular feature, but I'm shooting for at least five a year. If it's a well-received piece, hopefully more.

To anyone interested, here's what's coming up in the next few months... (Note that things are subject to change, but so far this looks to be the schedule.)
October issue- box-stock review of AMT's 2010 Camaro SS/RS police car November issue- AMT's Ohio George 1960 Ford Ranchero December issue- Revell's Datsun 4x4 and MAD '57 Ford 4-door transkit January issue- AMT '78 Ford "Super Stones" 4x4
Everything's more or less up in the air after that.

I sense a Pulitzer Prize forthcoming. Little late, but good to hear you're contributing to a semi-regular column, Chuck.

Of course, I should probably point out that I'm always open to suggestions...

I wouldn't mind seeing a comparison of the three(?) Ertl International Scout kits, ways to improve them, things like that. I get the feeling ROund2 will probably reissue the Scout II within the next few years, and even if they don't, I just plain find that series of kits interesting.

I do have a sort of half-finished draft on ways to improve the Scout II kits. As far as comparing the three, that might happen too- I'm crossing my fingers Round 2 will bring back the SSII and off road versions. I've heard there's a resin caster who's planning to bring back some of the specific parts from the Off Road and SSII kits... the roll bar, racing seats, headers, and side-dump dual exhaust. If that happens (and I've been annoying the hell out of him about it-believe me ) I'll cover those as well. Other stuff I'm considering- Solid axle swap for 4x4s- I'll probably use an IFS-equipped 4x4 kit for that, but also go over ways to convert a 2x using the same process. Converting an AMT Chevrolet C1500 to a K1500- basically a scratchbashing exercise between the C1500 and S-10 Blazer front suspension pieces to build a stock K1500. Possibly, a piece on building a generator/welder powered by the Willys 152 "Go-Devil" engine sourced from the MPC MB jeep. Tons and tons of Jeep-specific stuff... we'll just leave it at that. I'm also planning on doing a few "retro review" type articles- among the subjects covered will be (if things go to plan)- Monogram's infamous 1981 Land Rover, as well as some "compare and contrast" type pieces, which go over a new reissue and how it differs from earlier editions. I also have some stuff that's "way off"- meaning it's just in the earliest planning stages. For instance... Various conversions of the Monogram '91 F-250 kit. Ditto the Meng F350 and AMT Dodge Little Red Express. I'm also planning on featuring models build by others, provided I can get good clear pics from the builder.

Also in the December issue- there's a review I did on the Revell Jeep Wrangler Rubicon. Forgot I even wrote that.
