I've been a fan since the Mansel - Senna era. I lost interest for a while due to the races become follow the leader, only pass in the pits boringness. My interest was resparked over the last couple of seasons though. Now that Cosworth is back in the game, I'll be watching this season. My biggest gripe right now is that Comcast doesn't have Speed HD in my area.

Has anyone tried F1.com's live stats during races? I really helps keep my interest during the "boring" races. Basically it shows you all the stats of the cars as it happens, their sector times, the differential in times, fastest laps etc. So if someone is out in front and 2nd place is getting closer, you will know if 1st is slowing or 2nd is speeding up. Also tells you who is in the pits, who has just crashed (but the announcers don't know), etc. I watch the laptop almost more than the TV during a race. Go to www.formula1.com/ and look for "Live Timing" at the top right. Then click on one of the "Launch" links on the right. You will need to register (it will force you to enter a phone number, just enter the example number). One of my major gripes with F1 is the lack of information as it is happening. The announcers often have no clue about what is actually happening during a race or are trying to simplify it for a "dumb" audience. They really need rolling stats on the screen like NASCAR. I mean come on, there is ten times more technology in these cars than the Space Shuttle but the coverage is still stone-age. John

Dave, that Cosworth V8 is supposed to be really strong, I hope they do well...too bad USGP failed to bring things together, they were gonna run the Cosworth, too! It's old school at my house John, only one desktop computer & it's nowhere near a TV, so no live stats for me would be cool though I bet. I think the three commentators do a good job, I especially enjoy Matchett's technical views, Hobbs is usually good for a laugh. I'd be interested in checking out UK's coverage of a race weekend, they are alot more into it than this country, probably better information.

I used to be a HUGE fan back when Ford and Ferrari fought it out remeber Michael Shumacher (sp) drove the Benneton Ford then Ford dropped out and he went to Ferrari i was still a fan of histhough but now it seems there is TOO much technology in these cars it takes it almost out of the drivers hands just look at the guys who have tried to race from thast series to the Cup series and failed when they had "drive" thier cars dont get me wrong i do still watch from time to time but just not the fan i used to be i am a huge NASCAR fan but that these days is getting more and more boring to watch may just have to cut the tv off on Sundays and build something oh well i guess i'll allways be a motorsports fan no matter what they are driving or where they drive either in a circle or road course straight line or dirt everybody loves a good ole dirt track race hmmmmm F1 on dirt think about it Willie

I watched it Sunday afternoon after I got home from watching my nephew. It was a so-so race for entertainment, the highlights for me were the glimpses of the Lotus-Cosworths with their BRG metalic paintjobs. But, it was a tough day all around for the Cosworths, hopefully they can catchup by the middle of the season.
I quit watching NASCAR this year. I got sick of Rick Hendrick, the guy should have gone to jail. His organization is corrupt from the top down.

The Cosworths seem to have the HP though, reliability will follow. I really like Vettel, but never seems to have a car that will finish...when he does, he usually wins! The championship was his last year had it not been for lack of reliability I like the look of the Virgin cars, nice, fluid lines & a cool paint scheme. The CFD only development could be a mistake though, time will tell!

I was a big F1 fan, after I lost interest... I looked some race, and some also in during some race in Monza or Imola, Monaco, but now looks there is less competition between pilots, and too much electronic on those cars. For me the best F1 time was in the 80's, with Villneuve, Arnoux... Great time...

I saw this John but cant recall what they said was kinda in and out of the room it allmost looks like to me that too much frontend down force made the suspension explode the a-arms it was a wild looking ride i could see one side just breaking due to part failure but both sides? Willie

That was a wild ride! During the race coverage, the cause had not yet been released by Toro Rosso...maybe they don't know yet or just weren't sayin'. A very exciting race all the way! I've got the qualifying & race recorded if you want a copy John...I missed the practice though
