Lets see..e, very hard to make a choice, but number one would have to be a Jeep Cherokee XJ since I had both an'89 and '99. I'd prefer the four-door version since the MJ used the short front doors. The rest of my top five: 2) Early bronco with the early style rear half-fenders (easily modified into the later style) 3) 2nd Generation Toyota 4runner/pickup/Hilux 4) IH Scout 80/800 5) Land Rover Defender series (110 and 90) Only the LR Defender could be easily built based upon the ESCI and Italeri LR Series III LWB109:

My thinking too, Richard. Then a Comanche pickup could be made up also. If someone really wanted a 2-door Cherokee, it could be done from the 4-door.

Resin or not, here are the ones I would love: 4. post-53 Ford pickups (60's ideally) 7. 70s Toyota Landcruiser 8. 60s Landrover John SMP (the original AMT) made annual promos of the 1960-1963 Ford F100 trucks, the 61-63 being the unibody longbeds. A few resin casters have repopped these in shortbed and panel truck variations as well as 57-59 versions: Original SMP kit Resin 1959 panel: Resin 1960 1961 Resin shortbed: 1962 kit: for the Toyota and Landrovers, see my previous posts. I worked on a FJ40 conversion about 6 years ago. The body/chasis has been shortened, see pictures here: public.fotki.com/modeljeeper/models/4x4s/yotas_under_construction-/tlc/

Richard, have you considered finishing the Yota up & having it reproduced so we can all buy a copy of this little gem? ;D And what's the story on this FC? 1/24 or 1/25 scale? Resin? Scratchbuilt? Same as above, we need these available for purchase!

That FC is not mine (unfortunately) If I recall it was a toy found on ebay that some one found it was close to scale. I think thats where the resin version is made from.
Yes I know I need to finish the cruiser...someday...and Id like to build the pickup truck version.

I vote XJ!! and then its roof missing sibling the commanche! Why? Well...look at the aftermarket support for XJ's...Its huge! After its sad fall from grace as "The" vehicle to be seen in while schlepping around the soccor moms...they became cheap as dirt. Now you can hardly go to any real world off road event without tripping over a herd of them. They are cheap. They are great starting platforms They are buildable into very capable crawlers or even reletively stock make for great camping vehicles. So...I vote XJ! ;D

I had to vote for the Super Duty, but I keep hoping the kit manufacturors will finally wake up and start producing kits like this. I also hope the reissue of the Monogram '91 F-250 isn't a test to see if these type of kits will sell. If it is,we may never see a heavy duty pickup again. I think a modern heavy duty of any brand,Ford Chevy or Dodge, would be a good selling kit. But,until someone take the chance and tools up a new kit, they/we will never know. MJ, who makes that resin '61 F-100 shortbed?? I gotta have one!!

I'm the single vote for the '67-'72 F-series. I drove a '67 for years and it was a very solid, reliable truck. Why one has never been offered in plastic or resin is beyond me... They are really good looking trucks.

$48! I wonder why model manufactures don't see this as a real demand and bring back (or make new) these models. The original kits go for outrageous prices also.
And on every forum I hit there is a thread just like this with the same response... a specific missing year of muscle car and any and all trucks... big, small, Ford, Chevy, pickup, SUV, 18 wheeler. John
