Hi all
I want to convert a Dodge Ram 2500/3500 with independent front suspension (2X4) to have a solid front axle and diff (4x4).
I am doing this in 1:18th scale, but want to know if anyone has scratch built solid front axles with the wheels being able to steer. I don't' mind if the axles are not true to the 1:1 (ie is a Chevy axle or rock crawler axle etc), just interested in how to fabricate the ends of the axles that the hub attaches to.
Any ideas?
cheers
Peter

Hey Peter, the 1/18 scale (mini) rock crawler R/C trucks have lots of upgraded parts for their axles, maybe you could use something from them? Example: www.rcplanet.com/Kyosho_Knuckle_Hub_Carrier_p/kyola219-10.htmThese parts look to be nylon/plastic, aluminum parts are available too & possibly necessary for your heavy diecast? Not sure if it's the 1/18 scale, these parts could be 1/10, the description is kinda vague. More searching, or a visit to your local hobby shop should yield you the parts you're looking for.
