Revell made quite a few cool kits like that back then in that scale...Ice patrol CJ-7 and others. Just too darned big to match our scale

John No, I don't know first hand the size of the tires...I would like to convert a 1/16 scale CJ-7 to a Scrambler someday, but... By just looking at those 1/16 tires, they look to replicate 33"-35" meats...that would translate to 49.5" tall in 1/24 scale. The problem would be the ID...15" in 1/16 would be .937", even bigger than the large SoReal rims at .750". I guess the caster could place an insert in the mold to reduce the ID, but to replicate a Goodyear that probably never came in a 1:1 size of 49" wouldn't be worth it I don't think, IMHO. Especially when we have the SoReals now in a soft compound & some casters reproducing them also.

that's probably the same kit that was modified into those Monster trucks later. looks alot cooler with the smaller sized tires though.

Hi guys Here are the measurements and some pictures of the wheels. I have done my best to convert the measurements into inches (you guys really need to catch up! ;D ). Measurements first: Tire Diameter 54mm - 2.13 inches Tire width 19mm - 0.75 inches Rim diameter inside 22mm - 0.87 inches Rim diameter outside 25mm - 0.98 inches I have taken some pictures of the wheel along side a So Cal wheel (hard plastic version) for comparison. I would be interested in sending you a wheel. The tires are hollow, would you cast them hollow or solid and would you cast the tires in soft rubber or resin? cheers Peter

Peter, would you mind if I "steal" your info for the tires website? John p.s. I prefer mm to inches too
