Here's the only four I think have been issued...have never seen any other versions. These three I own: I think the original issue, dated 1981: Dated 1996: Latest issue, dated 2001...actually the best one to have, since it's molded in white & the only one to have clear "glass": This one I don't have...eBay borrowed pic. These don't come up for sale very often, and since it has the rubber Goodyears included, it probably slots in right after the original 1981 issue: Any other info anyone? Richard (modeljeeper)

I have the 'Dude' version... yeah, the molded orange body and smoked glass (even the headlamps!) is kind of a bummer. Not a huge fan of the molded-in rear window cover either. Haven't seen the other reissues... but I used to have the "Killer Bee" VW Bug from that Road Warriors series! That might be the issue I'll look for.
The grille on this one has always looked kind of weird to me... too narrow? Too tall? Both? I'm not sure, it just looks a bit 'off', but altogether this is really a fairly decent kit. I'm looking for a couple myself... one to turn into a Wagoneer with a resin body, and one I want to convert into Earl Basset's pickup from the first two Tremors movies.

Any ideas what to pay for these kits? I know of a guy selling the Pink Poison kit for $15. I believe that is plus shipping. John

I paid 20 bucks for my 'Dude' editon, for a sealed, unbuilt 1981 copyrighted issue- I can't imagine the other issues would be much more than that. I'd gladly fork over what the guy is asking for that kit, John, it sounds like a fair and square price to me, ESPECIALLY if it includes shipping! ;D I really don't even see these on e-bay too often, now that I think of it!

I have a couple of the Pink Poison issues. One question I have is the bed seperate from the cab on the 1:1 or is it a unibody? One big disappointment I have with this kit is the lack of chrome pieces. The grille, bumpers and mirrors at least should have been chromed.

Revell seemed to have a long time love affair with molding the beds to the cabs of its pickup kits. While I guess that does help eliminate any possibility of the cab and bed being misaligned, it doesn't do much for realism! Yeah- I second the motion on lack of chrome... give us chrome, and please, no more tinted glass! ;D This would be a natural reissue for their ongoing "Trucks" series...

Found out something interesting on the 'Pink Poison'- originally, in summer '01, it was annonced as 'Mr. Deadwrech', and appeareed in the Revell catalog as such, set for a fall release. Between its announcement and its release, Dale Earnhart was killed, so the bigwigs at Revell decided to change the name to 'Pink Poison' for the reissue.

The original version was the black Jeep Honcho which was first released in 1981 (#7313). This verison, as mentioned, was re-issued in 1996 (as pictured). By then, the mold was altered as the "real rubber tires" were removed and the wheels altered to fit the replacement hard/solid vinyl Goodyear tires from the Monogram molds. You can tell the reissue from the original by the box art. The wording "with real rubber tires" has been removed from above the model's hood and the white tire lettering has been blacked out.
The Honcho Dude was also released in 1981 (#7319) and was a second verison which Revell liked to do by adding parts/accessories. Note the box art text and tire lettering.
The Honcho Racer was released in 1983 (#7390) and the box design is indictive of that era.

Looks like the (or at least a few of) "Mr Deadwrench" version were released: I would like to see this kit return again, too, warts and all. Out of curiosity, how close to correct is this kit in 1/25 scale? It always seemed a bit closer to 1/24 scale, but I'm mainly going on memory from the kit I received as a gift in the early '80s.

The Deadwrench version was pulled fairly quickly, it seems.

Found the story, from Dean Milano himself... "Here's what all the fuss was about. Back in the summer of 2000, when I designed the Blacktop Warriors series, I named this truck Mr.Deadwrench as a spoof on the GM Mr. Goodwrench character. Who could've known that Dale Earnhardt would be killed the following March at Daytona just as this kit was about to come out? The first batch of kits were packed and the decision was made to change the name to Pink Poison and all the kits had to be re-packed with the new box." Looks like a few may have slipped through the cracks, though.

It's too bad the rubber-like Goodyear Wrangler tires found in the original few releases of this kit (and other Revell 4x4 kits) are gone for good, as they are a good size for 1/25 scale and a good alternative to the 1/24 Monogram Goodyear Tracker A-Ts. A new set of decals, and we've got a reissue:

The other thing which always bugged me about this kit it the cab and bed molded as one. I can't recall of the rear cab wall is molded separately like Revell's Ram VTS kit or not, but either way, I'd be happy to deal with it if this kit was reissued.
