My latest 1:25 Binder project... big shock, huh? Well hey... it's not a Scout II THIS time! I'm starting with this... R&R's resin '57 IH A-100. Now, IH used this same cab right up until 1968 pickups (by then called the C-series), and a raised roof version was used on the weird ACO 'Sightliner' COE in the '60's, and this same raised roof cab was used on some Loadstar medium duty tractors well into the 1970's. So this kit can be a donor for any number of projects... you could even turn it into a Travelall! But what I'm planning is to update the doghouse to "C-Series" specs. It will require quite a bit of reshaping to the nose (not even considering removal of the A-series trim), but I've never let that stop me before! Conversion to a B-series would be quite a bit easier... but where's the fun in that? Here's what I've managed so far... And I don't think this is even the rough part... the C-series used a wider hood with a kind of scalloped "W" stamped into it (like the engine cover to an early '50's VW Beetle), and the grille area is totally different. But I'll burn those bridges when I get to them! Here's what the '57-8 A-line front end looked like (on a stock R&R kit) And a few examples of 1:1 C-series noses, just to give you an idea what I'm up against... Not sure what I'll do with the cab- I'm thinking of using it for a truck puller, but whatever the case it ought to be fun!

I like that one in the last pic i think a truck puller would be a cool idea for this cool project Willie

Question... think there'd be any interest in a B or C series IH truck cab? If this one turns out halfway decent looking, I might be inclined to pull a mold from it. Oh, by the way... no progress to speak of on it so far! Oh, yeah, a B-series front end looks like this...

I don't know how well it would take off. Maybe really take off. Of coarse, someone is going to say; "I can chop that!" or "I could tub that!" I'd want one.

Looking good so far Chuck! Now get this done so you can do a Travelall conversion & get it cast! And a Travelette (crew cab) Pickup! And short and long beds, in both Fenderside and Bonus Load configurations! And a phantom panel truck...

Next phase begins...even though the first is far from finished! I plan to turn THESE Monogram '50 Ford F-1 fenders... Into THESE '57-'74 IH "Fenderside" dealies... I think a little bit of minor reshaping will need to occur.

Work has begun on the other fender, and the rear cab wall. I've also begun shaping up the grille opening- I plan to leave it open, and do the various different C-series grilles as separate inserts.
