Just kind of wondering out loud here- it's not technically 'off-roading' in the strictest sense, but could I get away with posting a couple of demoliton derby rides here? Well, I've only got one right now, but you can't have a derby with one car, so I'm going to have to build some more, right?

our local county fair was just last week and we went and enjoyed a very good demolition derby. last year they had an "exhibition" heat that featured pick-up trucks only, this year it was mini-vans(with one pick-up). the pick-up only deal last year actually got kind of boring. i say that because after awhile most of the trucks were still running and running good, even beat to snot thier durability was shining through! it went on for much longer than i think the organizers and fans really wanted to see. this year the mini-vans were pretty interesting as there was a mix of rear wheel drives and front wheel drives and that lone Ford pick-up. the front drive mini-vans actually did pretty well too.
the good 'ol American big V-8 cars are becoming more and more rare for the demolition derby, at least here in northern Virginia. i don't know about you guys but there is a certain appeal to me to hearing the sounds of those V-8's and seeing those big sedans and wagons duking it out, the front drivers just don't give the same experience. i still have a good time though and it's something that we like to do as a family. one of my long time friends is a participant too and even though he never does that well it's still fun seeing him "crashing" and cheering him on.
