Hey Ben, what truck bed "brand" are you wanting to shorten? I may have what you need, let me know. I normally like to build with longbeds instead of short, I hope we can trade! I usually find someone that's got a 1:1 of the bed I'm trying to replicate and if not, find good pics somewhere on the "net" to take measurements from. Enthusiast sites, catalogs, eBay, etc. The only tutorial I can think of is from a model building contributor concerning making the '84 GMC shortbed into a longbed, opposite of what you want

Ben, RMR offers a resin shortbed for the 67-72 GM trucks. I think someone else casts one also?
I have the 1:1 measurements for these trucks though, my Dad has a cherry '68 shortbed that I measured, so I can replicate his truck someday...
Let me know if you want them & I'll dig 'em out of the kit box and post!

I shortened the bed on the cab end. I used a set of calipers, measured what I needed and marked the bed. I just used a hobby saw and cut it clean. I then very carefully cut off the bed "edges" (at the front of the bed), smoothed them out and re-glued them back to the bed. I used some Testor's model putty and filled in any little gaps. It turned out very nice.
