Does anyone cast a Jeepster top for the Commandos or am I gonna have to scratchbuild one? Also, would the top be correct for the later model Commando?

Don't know how I missed this Roger I've never seen a full hardtop made by anyone for these...but we can make our own! I've got an original issue 66-71 Commando on the way, and I've got the 72-up "bullnose" one here too. I believe the tops are the same, as the rear body didn't change. If there's a demand for the full hardtop, we'll have someone cast it! If not, you & I will have them

Jeff,if you or anyone will cast it,I'll buy 2-3 of them! I would like to see the original Jeepster body and top cast! The top is the only thing missing from the Stevens International kit,the rest is there.

Roger, I'll get to scratching a full hardtop one of these days, you'll be the first to know when it's done! Then we can do a poll & see if there's enough interest to justify the cost of molding & casting it, unless in the meantime I learn to cast myself ;D

I always thought the full top came with the old MPC kit- it would be a cool thing to have! I like the 'pickup' top in the Stevens reissue, but I'd have really loved to have had both top options!

Sounds like another winter time project! I have an original Mount N Goat (didn't know they made the Mount N Goat before the Stevens issue) and it doesn't have the parts that are in the Stevens issue for some reason. Now to find some good photos of the full roof.

Let me know when you get it Jeff and I'll order up one or two of those tops from you. Is there any way I could con you into casting up one of those bodies?? ;D I bet you could sell a few of those.

Hoping to get it soon? Anyway, once it's here, I'll do some test fitting to be sure the rear bodies are exactly the same between the two generations...if so (they should be) and I get the full top, I'll have someone cast it & the FRONT CLIP & hood of the 67-71...much cheaper than doing a whole body, & we can graft it right onto the newer issue! I'll keep this thread updated...

Not sure about the scale versions but the 1-1 are interchangable for all years. I've owned 3 Jeepsters (old style grille) and one 72 Commando (claaed the Bull nose) and the tops all were identical as far as mouning and dimensions..but thats real life...lol
