Hey bogger. Great lookin' Scout so far. I like the almost-finished bumper. It fits the truck well. A great first attempt, tho. And when it comes to symmetry, you're not alone. But you did a good job on it.

I think the bumper turned out great, especially for a first attempt. I be with a little more filling/sanding it would be "perfect".
I don't if you know about this stuff but Bondo makes a tube of filler that doesn't need to be mixed. It is very soft so sands very easily. I think it is called Glazing & Spot Putty. John

That bumper looks great Tony! Like John said, a little massaging & it'll be perfect!
I've been using liquid "Mr. Surfacer" lately with good results for small pre-paint flaws...

Thanks for all the good words guys, coming from such a great group of talented builders, it means a lot! Yep, I do have a tube of the glazing & spot putty, good stuff. There's a fair amount of it on the bumper already with a little more to come. Maybe get it finished up and ready for paint today?

The bull bar ( sorry Bumper ) has turned up trumps. since you have put the bars on it it has made it look spot on. Don't worry if it's not perfect have a look at 70% off 4X4 that see the trails and there bars (bumpers) are bent and warped from rocks and trees. I'm loving this build so far keep up the great work

Thanks intimidator, Chuck, and kynan! I am really pleased with how it turned out and in reality, like you guys have said, the small imperfections do help make it look a little used and abused. I just need to learn to not be so critical of my work. No matter the project and how much I like the outcome, I always find a couple of things that I could have improved on.
I've made some small progress over the last couple days. No pictures taken, but I did get the body into primer, and have sprayed the top white. For the rest of the body, I am planning on shooting it with the same red as I did on the motor, and going with a tan interior. For the bumper, I was going to paint it black, but now I am thinking it might look cooler to do it body color. Hmmmm........

I didn't get much work done over the weekend, but did manage another small "fix", this time to the interior. With all the extra details I've put into this one, I figured I better add something to the interior to help spruce it up a little. So, I made some seat backs out of styrene. The only other thing I accomplished was to lengthen the driveshafts. The weatherman said tonight that we're supposed to be getting some drier air up here starting tomorrow, so I am hoping to get the body into paint on Wednesday(?).

Thanks a lot gray07. I managed to lay down some color on the body yesterday (truthfully, the roof was done last week). Here is the paint I used.... The Krylon went on super smooth and the Valspar nearly as well. Man, that Valspar has some pretty nasty fumes, so if anyone else out there tries this stuff, make sure you have lots of good ventilation. IH Red on a Scout, seems pretty appropriate, eh?!

Wow, sorry about the kinda dumpy looking pictures. Don't know why they came out that way. They looked just fine when I downloaded them to my photobucket.
