Hey bogger. I don't know how I missed the color pics, but it looks real good to me. And I see nothing wrong with the pics.

Thanks John and Larry. This week I tried another round of scratchbuilding...this time a winch. I did some digging through the parts bucket, did some brainstorming, and rounded up some parts. Use some of them, not others, time would tell. Started by shaping, and removing the hub from, that tan spindle for the top housing (guess that is what you could call it). Then added some styrene for the sides, and used the removed hub and another one for the motor and what-not. Slapped on a little putty to fill the seams, some sanding and primer and here is the result so far. I haven't been striving to build a specific model winch, but just one in general, though I have been using one from Warn on their website for a little guidance. I'm pretty proud of the fruits of my effort so far. More to come....

Hey bogger...great lookin' winch. And I gotta say, some of the 1:1 pics out there are truly inspiring and helpful, to say the least. The Rockwell was scratched from invaluable 1:1 pics I have. Are you gonna wrap your own winch cable?

Hope you didn't mind hearing that Willie.....my brainstorms usually sound more like whoopee cushions than storms LOL!
I am planning on wrapping the cable too Big Ed, and those Rockwells you are building look awesome. It is pretty amazing the inspiration one can get just by looking at some photos of 1:1 stuff.
Thanks guys!

That winch is kick ass, especially considering what it started out as!
