Thanks much guys. Yes, the end is in sight. Have been painting between high temps and humidity. That ultra shiny gold paint doesn't hide anything... every time I paint I find something needing fixing. Oh well. Some more pix: Nose is very close to being done. A little touch up on the F O R D lettering but close. Still have to build this a rock guard screen to cover the center section. Got the paint on the side body panels also but the tape pulled off a few pieces of paint in the white. Darn Darn DARN! I am going to try to fill the holes with paint and cover them with the decals. But I might have to mask of that panel and repaint. Darn! John

Again, thank you everyone for the kind words.
A little update... I sanded the body panel down and resprayed both colors. It turned out much better than the other BUT the blue painter's tape left its glue on the white. I am going to run a few tests of what can remove it without messing up the paint. Alcohol or Finger nail polish are the first to try. If anyone knows something else to try, let me know. John

Willie, I tried alcohol, I guess it worked pretty good (good enough). A quick photo update... Got it clean-ish, put on decals and cleared the whole thing. That light at the end of the tunnel is starting to get a little closer. John

Wow that looks great I like it. That one top build. In Aus we have eucalyptus oil it is great for removing glue it's the from the gum ( eucalyptus) tree and is used as a cold remedy it as well as removing Glues i.e. masking tape and sticky labels and does not damage paint you get it at the Chemist (drug store?) have a look it's sold overseas. It good stuff

Incredible scratchbuilding and a cool subject! Yes, I love first-gen Broncs almost as much as Scouts! (Yes, I said ALMOST!) Should be very cool.

Being a relative newcomer to this site there is a lot of areas that I need to venture into and check things out. I finally saw this and went through the entire thread to see a most superb piece of scratchbuilt craftsmanship. Your work here is excellent, from the scratchbuilt body panels and handmade chassis/suspension to the homemade decals. I can't wait to see this one finished and maybe one day, in person on a contest table.
